As our three girls were growing so quickly, we recognised the need for more space and versatility and so decided to embark on the adventure of renovating an original 1913 four-room villa into an expansive family forever home.
We were originally introduced to Francesca by our builder to help us with our joinery design. At our first meeting, we built instant rapport, and I was pleased to uncover that Francesca offered full end to end design services. This was the start of our journey together.
There are three things that have stood out in my time with Francesca. Firstly, her high level of collaboration. Francesca always makes sure you, your ideas and your budget are put above everything else.This often meant Francesca sourcing and presenting multiple options, never allowing me to settle for a concept that I wasn't quite sold on. The second is efficiency, both from a time and cost perspective. We are time poor professionals with a very hectic family life, so having Francesca do so much of the leg work in booking appointments, finding suppliers, pulling together concepts etc was a life saver. This efficiency transcends to cost also. A great example of this was my tile selection, where Francesca had put together various concepts, all based on looks I had sent her, and at 3 different price points from budget to high-end. This approach meant that I spent less than an hour and one visit in total on tile selections (covering 7 wet areas), and was able to use a mix of products to achieve the look I was after, within my budget. This process was replicated across the home, allowing us to splurge where impact would be strongest, but also sourcing the most beautiful products in our price point.
Francesca was also a great guidance on where not to cut corners, explaining the longer term impact of why, many of which related to the maintenance / usability, both of which were key considerations of our brief.
Francesca is a top class communicator, by far the best that we dealt with anywhere throughout our project. She is extremely responsive, a great listener and always solution oriented. I don't recall once having to chase Francesca up on anything.
Lastly, in terms of the quality of her designs, her joinery plan is truly one of a kind. Being big entertainers, the kitchen and living is the heart of our home and our happy place and how Francesca brought this to life, blending traditional elements of the original villa, into a modern state of the kitchen and living was incredible. We are so proud to open this space to all of our family and friends and will forever be grateful to Francesca for nailing every element of this brief and so so much more.

Following a thorough renovation of my apartment, axiom interior design created a visually stunning and elegant living environment that suited my lifestyle and knocked out all my visitors and friends. It also proved to be a wise investment as the impressive presentation enabled my apartment to be snapped up readily when I finally had to relocate.
I engaged Francesca of Axiom Interior Design, to fully renovate my level-10 penthouse apartment on Greenhill Road S.A.
Francesca designed a contemporary scheme I loved and provided accurate cost estimates assuring me it would meet my budget.
Once approved she prepared full documentation for tenders, managed all selections, oversaw the builder and associated trades and commissioned the manufacture of bespoke furniture she had also designed. She also assisted with my relocation into temporary accommodation and coordinated my return once the renovation was complete, so I entered a fully renovated, functioning and furnished home.
I was impressed by how the project was managed from start to finish. The project was delivered on time, within budget, and exactly to the design, with clear and effective communication on progress throughout as I required.
The result was a seamless and stress-free my end and the project was managed such to allow me to pursue my lifestyle and obligations without disruption, eliminating the usual worry associated with such a major high-rise renovation. The final outcome was impressive and contributed to me successfully later selling the property, fully furnished.

I purchased a small 1893 cottage in Semaphore in 2019. It had been a rental for 10 years and was much neglected but had great bones.
My sister lived in Adelaide and I lived in Melbourne. Sadly she was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer in 2019 when the world was changing for everyone with the pandemic wreaking havoc and madness reigning with border closures. I chose to buy the cottage so that I could move to SA and be there for her. It was also a project we could work on together and a distraction from her daily difficulties. We were both excited.
Sadly her condition worsened and she passed away 18 months after diagnosis. Any plans we had fell away and I returned to Victoria in deep grief for the loss of my sister and best friend. I closed the door on the cottage and could not face thinking about it without her.
After a significant time I knew that I needed to get the cottage renovated and livable. I was somewhat naive about the level of detailed knowledge required for choosing fittings and fixtures and for all elements of design and hoped the builder would guide me.
I now understand that this detail is outside the scope of the builder however it is this very detail that created the end result of the renovation. The result that you will be living with, day in day out as inhabitants of the space.

For me the logistics of being interstate suddenly became surprisingly easy as Francesca became my advocate collaborating with the builder regarding design flow and finish.
Her experience preempting and preventing possible expenses and pitfalls. She attended the site regularly always communicating with me and showing me what was happening while involving me in decisions big or small as required.
I consider myself a detail oriented person, however Francesca is next level. Exactly what you want. Her passion for design and beauty means it is never just a job for her. It is an expression of her creativity and she always went the extra mile to get it just right.
The cabinetry, the custom painted tiles, the light fittings, the appliances, the markings in the specific pieces of natural stone and all the while holding functionality as a central necessity.
Communication was very accessible and highly informative. I knew every aspect of what was happening. My friends and family marveled at the stunning results of my long distance renovation. My secret to success was Francesca and Axiom interior Design.
For many the idea of an interior designer seems like an added cost to an already expensive project. I assure you that the expense will be worth every penny to achieve the result that will mean the best spend of your money. You will anticipate things you didn’t know you needed to (because of Francesca’s knowledge and experience) therefore avoiding costly mistakes. The timing of the stages and information required by the builder is not dependent upon your availability as Francesca keeps the momentum to prevent costly delays due to timing of fittings and fixtures, making sure what is required is on site when required.
Her eye to detail when on site is amazing and she is never shy of representing your desire for perfection when communicating with the various trades or builder. The times that I may have conceded to near enough was good enough because it seemed too difficult given my distance where gone because Francesca saw the tedium of persistence as an integral part of what she was there to do.
I cannot recommend Francesca highly enough and am so happy with the end result of what was a very sentimental project done from a great distance. It is now someone’s much loved home and I know they too are grateful that Francesca was involved.
